Environmental teams are a cut above

Dunedin Canmore’s environmental teams are working hard to improve communities.

Our new environmental teams are already improving communities

The new environmental service, introduced earlier in the year, is already making a difference.

The guys provide an all-round service for customers, including grass cutting, bulk uplift, cleaning and removing graffiti.

They also work closely with housing officers to help tackle issues like dog fouling and other anti-social behaviour.

Jobs completed recently include cutting grass and taking care of flower beds at Eskmills, trimming hedges at Whitehouse Loan and tidying up the garden of an empty home at Hyvot Park.

At the moment, the teams are getting ready for their winter maintenance programme, including cutting back bushes and shrubs and applying sand and cement between paving slabs to prevent weeds.

Dunedin Canmore Managing Director Hazel Young said: “We want people in our communities to be proud of where they live.

“Customers are really noticing a difference in how their neighbourhoods are maintained.

“We’re using new state-of-the-art machinery which will make jobs faster and easier, giving us more time to help out with requests from customers. Customers are really benefiting from the new environmental service.”
