The Group spans 17 local authority areas across Central Scotland, providing homes and award-winning services to over 250,000 people.

Wheatley has a strong development programme with over 1,800 new homes currently on site across central Scotland.  We plan to complete 4,000 new homes by 2024/25. To deliver our ambitious growth programme, we are looking to strengthen our team and recruit a Development Co-ordinator, based at our offices at New Mart Road, Edinburgh.

The successful candidate will have expertise in one or more of the following areas:

  • Delivery of new build affordable housing
  • Delivery of construction projects, or other relevant programme management or project management experience
  • Project Management and cost control of new build residential developments
  • Construction, maintenance and quality control
  • Site acquisition and contract negotiation

Due to the wide-ranging and varied nature of the projects that we undertake, we are looking for a candidate with proven experience delivering large scale or complex developments.

You will also have a sound knowledge of dealing with contractors and developers and a good understanding of development finance and related IT skills.  You will possess excellent communication skills and the ability to demonstrate a high degree of accountability and effective decision making.

Ideally, you will also be experienced in the management of multi-functional consultant teams and have direct experience of Scottish Government and local authority housing grant administration systems. It is preferable that you also have experience in cost planning and viability testing of development projects and in the setting and adhering to programmes.

A relevant qualification in a related discipline is desirable.

The successful candidate will benefit from the support and knowledge of the existing development teams and experienced Clerk of Works service.
